Format will be 24 groups of 5 players who play everyone in their group with the top 2 progressing to make a knockout stage of 64 players once they are joined by 16 invited players.
The difference here is that there will be 6 sections played in Cue Here, Airdrie, 8 sections played in Corner Pocket, Camelon and 10 sections played in Hustlers, Rosyth.
Extended News
The qualifiers will all take place on the same day, Saturday 31st July.
Entry will be £30 for every player.
When you pay your entry you can stipulate your preference for which venue to qualify thru, but current members of the Corner Pocket Tour will have until 31st May to get first choice.
Once any of the total numbers for a venue have been reached the rest will get drawn out a hat.
This allows everyone a fair chance to play for their nearest venue where possible.
Remember if your not a current member of the tour, you still pay your £30 asap and stipulate where you wish to play. This list will be published so as soon as the deadline is reached for current tour members, the places will be filled on a first come first served basis.
The 16 invited players will consist of the top 10 ranked players from last years tour along with another 6 invited players who might be players from outwith Scotland.
Prizefund is going to be £4,080.
For every player who fails to qualify for the knockout stage, there will be a £500 plate event held in Hustlers, Rosyth on 1st August.
Finals for the last 64 knockout stage will also be Sunday 1st August and held in Corner Pocket, Camelon.
Prize Structure:-
Winner £1000
R/Up £500
Semi £240
Quarters £120
Last 16 £60
Last 32 £40
Plate Prizes

What is going to be unique with this event is that for your £30 entry fee you are guaranteed 5 matches minimum.
This is going to be an annual event and next year I will be looking to increase the finals places by offering clubs and areas spots in the finals so they can run their own local qualifiers. This will dramatically increase the prizefund and eventually attract the best players from all over the UK and not just Scotland.
